01 — USING DR. FRUGAL
A personal financial-management service
By creating a Dr. Frugal account or using our Services, you agree to these Terms. Dr. Frugal is designed to help you understand, organise and manage your finances. Features may include connected accounts, balances and transactions, categorisation, spending analysis, budgets, recurring payments, bills and subscriptions, price monitoring, receipt analysis, savings opportunities, AI assistance and third-party product information. You must be at least 18, have legal capacity to agree to these Terms, provide accurate information, use Dr. Frugal lawfully, and only connect accounts you own or are authorised to access.
02 — OPEN BANKING & YOUR ACCOUNT
Connect accounts on your terms
Dr. Frugal uses Open Banking technology to connect supported financial accounts, with FERZAN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES LTD acting as an Agent of Yapily Connect Ltd for applicable services. Your bank handles authentication; we do not require your password or PIN. You control the permissions granted and may withdraw permission or disconnect an account at any time. We may retrieve updated information while permission remains valid. Open Banking depends on third-party financial institutions and infrastructure, so a service or account may occasionally be unavailable. You are responsible for keeping your device secure, protecting your login credentials and telling us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
03 — AI, BUDGETS & CALCULATIONS
Tools for clarity, not financial advice
Unless we expressly state otherwise, Dr. Frugal does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice. Budgets, analysis, insights, savings calculations, categorisation, alerts, comparisons and AI responses are general informational financial-management tools, not personal recommendations. AI-generated content may be incorrect, incomplete or inappropriate and may not reflect your full circumstances; do not rely solely on it for an important financial decision. Budgets and calculations can be incomplete because Dr. Frugal may not know about unconnected accounts, cash spending, future expenses, pending transactions, changes in income, unseen debts or changes in your circumstances.
04 — SHOPPING & THIRD PARTIES
Check the final details before you buy
Dr. Frugal may provide shopping lists, product and retailer information, price comparisons, price monitoring and price alerts. Prices and availability can change at any time, so we cannot guarantee that a displayed price remains available, a product is in stock, descriptions are fully accurate, a retailer will honour displayed information, or an option is the cheapest available. Please confirm the final price, product, delivery charge, availability and applicable terms with the retailer before purchasing. Any purchase is normally between you and the retailer. Third-party products and services are subject to the provider’s own eligibility criteria, pricing, terms, privacy policy and regulatory arrangements.
05 — SUBSCRIPTIONS & ACCEPTABLE USE
Use Dr. Frugal lawfully and responsibly
Some features may be free while others require payment or subscription. Before purchase, you will be shown the relevant price and payment terms. App-store purchases may also be subject to that store’s billing, renewal, cancellation and refund rules; statutory consumer rights remain unaffected. You must not use Dr. Frugal for fraudulent or illegal purposes, access another person’s financial information without authority, impersonate anyone, provide materially false information, interfere with security, introduce malware, misuse Open Banking, scrape or extract data without permission, use unauthorised bots, or reverse engineer software except where law permits. We may suspend or restrict access where we reasonably believe these requirements are breached.
06 — SERVICE & RESPONSIBILITY
Reliable by design, never guaranteed
We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot guarantee that Dr. Frugal is always available, uninterrupted or error-free. Maintenance, upgrades, incidents, infrastructure failure, bank or Open Banking outages, third-party failures and circumstances outside our control can interrupt the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where this would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to law, we are not responsible for losses caused solely by inaccurate third-party information, temporary third-party unavailability, decisions based only on general tools or unverified AI content, retailer changes, misuse contrary to these Terms, failure to secure your device or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
07 — PRIVACY, CHANGES & CONTACT
Closing your account and getting in touch
Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data and transaction information. You may stop using Dr. Frugal and request account closure at support@drfrugal.app, but closing Dr. Frugal does not automatically cancel separate agreements with banks, retailers or other providers. We may suspend, restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address a material breach, suspected fraud, legal or regulatory requirements, service withdrawal or material risk. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. We may update them to reflect changes to Dr. Frugal, providers, security, business or legal requirements, and will provide appropriate notice where a change materially affects your rights or obligations.
